Exquisite Ephemera

Today I really wanted to blog about one of my favourite things; ephemera.

Ephemera

/ɪˈfɛm(ə)rə,ɪˈfiːm(ə)rə/

noun

things that exist or are used or enjoyed for only a short time.

"there were papers, letters, old boxes—all sorts of ephemera"

Expired tickets, postcards, envelopes, letters, old documents, receipts, bookmarks, pamphlets, maps, cards, tags, book pages, sheet music — ephemera is anything that was intended to be short-lived or was specially produced for one occasion. I started collecting ephemera when I kept a journal last year, and recently I started a junk journal for the first time which I am hoping to carefully cram with the finest odds and ends I can get my hands on. I can't wait for it to get so big I can't close it. Adding to it is keeping me distracted from current events, so if you're struggling with anxiety, hack at a magazine or old book and create something beautiful.

All the items below I found on Etsy. I would recommend checking out Etsy and Depop if you want to start picking up a few bits. It's all generally affordable, and once the shops reopen and we can venture out again, I suggest looking in charity shops for cards, books, writing sets and sheet music books.
